Based on a partnership with the
Council on African Canadian Education and with the
Africentric Learning Institute, the Graduate Studies in Lifelong Learning Program has offered two previous cohorts on Africentric Leadership. Mount Saint Vincent University is pleased to continue this partnership. Starting in September 2011, the GSLL program will offer a third cohort focused on
Africentric Policy and Research in Studies in Lifelong Learning.
The curriculum for this cohort explores Africentric approaches to policy and research related to a range of lifelong learning contexts and initiatives. It is designed to build capacity in the African Nova Scotian community to contribute to policy development and research.
The program will be offered part-time over two years using weekend workshops and summer institutes amenable to the schedules of busy professionals.
Students accepted into this GSLL cohort are entitled to receive a scholarship administered by CACE/ALI to cover tuition and some additional costs related to the degree.
The application deadline for this cohort is past. The first class will meet in September, 2011 with Dr Susie Brigham who is teaching GSLL 6200 "Introduction to Lifelong Learning". In January, Dr. Donovan Plumb will be teaching GSLL 6206 "Lifelong learning processes".
