Become a Teacher
The Mount offers comprehensive Bachelor of Education programs at the elementary and secondary levels. These programs emphasize reflective practice and diverse teaching methods, a range of practical field experiences, and a focus on preparing professional educators who recognize and value all individuals. The Faculty of Education looks to
prepare teachers and educational leaders who are grounded in knowledge of the subjects they teach, able to provide appropriate instruction to the diverse groups of students they will encounter, and committed to life-long learning and professional development. Students work closely with their colleagues as they consider teaching practice and issues of education.
The Faculty of Education also offers a wide range of Graduate programs in Education, both on campus and in many other locations. Research and professional development are also important components of the work of the faculty.
Mount Saint Vincent University, Acadia University and St. Francis Xavier University are collaborating to offer a full-time PhD in Educational Studies.
