About the Teaching and Learning Centre...

 

A resource for faculty and academic departments, the Teaching and Learning Centre is available to consult and collaborate with you...in person or online.

 

The Centre's mandate is instructional design and faculty development and its work involves, but is not  limited to:

 

  • consulting 1:1 with faculty (e.g., course design-on campus, distance or blended)
  • teaching workshops
  • special events, e.g., Faculty Day
  • teaching portfolios
  • assistance with the preparation of teaching award submissions
  • dissemination of teaching and (e)learning-related  literature, best practices, conferences
  • leveraging various Mount technologies for teaching and learning, e.g., Moodle
  • collaborative writing with faculty on successful propo$al submissions (e.g., March 11, 2011 President's Visiting Lecture Series on Teaching and Learning event)
  • exploring new media for innovative teaching, e.g., mobile learning, social media tools
  • supporting faculty in the scholarship of teaching and learning

The Centre's activities are identified and implemented in consultation with faculty and under advisement by SCOTL (Senate Committee on Teaching and Learning). 

 

Faculty are welcome to visit the Centre in Seton 313A or contact the Co-ordinator, Teaching and Learning.
