E-Thesis Deposit

Participate in the Electronic Thesis Deposit Program
The Mount Saint Vincent University Library is now accepting graduate theses on CD for permanent preservation. Participating is easy.

Instructions for submitting your thesis on CD:

To create your electronic thesis, you should be using the same file you submitted to your defence committee, with any revisions suggested by the committee implemented.

Before making a final PDF version of your thesis for submission to the Library, please ensure that you do not include any personal information of yourself or another person in the thesis document itself. Personal information could include, but is not limited to: home phone numbers, personal e-mail  addresses, home mailing addresses, and signatures. It does not include the names or business addresses, phone numbers, or e-mail addresses.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact msvu.ca.

Please ensure that your title page, page numbering and appendices are properly formatted in a single Word document. Also, you should ensure that copyright is noted on the bottom of your title page (e.g. Copyright 2009 John Doe, or © Jane Doe 2009). Then all you need to do is convert your thesis from Word to PDF. The name of the PDF file should be your first name, last name, your degree, and then the year with no spaces in between.

For Example:
Education: JohnDoeMAEdThesis2009 (Master of Arts in Education), or JohnDoeMEdThesis2009 (Masters of Education)

Child and Youth Studies: JaneDoeMACYSThesis2009

Women and Gender Studies: JohnDoeMAWGSThesis2009

Binding your thesis

If you would like to have bound copies of your thesis you must fill out the Binding Form (pdf) and bring the unbound copies of your thesis (1 for each copy you are requesting to be bound), along with proof of payment from the Financial Services, to the Archives.  The Archives is located on the lower level of the Library in EMF 125.

A Note regarding thesis-binding turn around time:

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee quick turn-around times for the binding of theses due to the fact that we do not operate a bindery in-house. Theses are typically sent out for binding two times a year: 2-3 weeks before each convocation -- in the spring and fall. If you are submitting your thesis for binding, please take this into consideration and ensure that your completed thesis is submitted early in order to ensure that you receive your bound theses in a timely manner. If you have any concerns, please contact msvu.ca.
