Welcome to the Mount Library
An academic library is a place for independent and collaborative learning, for quiet contemplation and for active engagement. Explore your capacity to learn, to conduct research, and to think critically. The Mount Library provides a supportive learning environment both physically and virtually (on the Library’s website), and we encourage you to make yourself at home in both environments. Drop by the Library in the E. Margaret Fulton Communications Centre, to begin your quest for academic excellence! There is a large Blue Zone area for absolutely silent study, two Orange Zones for quiet discussion and collaborative learning, and one Red Zone lounge for lively discussion and meetings.
Need help? The Mount Saint Vincent University Library staff members are here to help you as you begin your research projects and presentations. Let the Library help you to succeed and to learn the skills necessary to be a MSVU graduate and a lifelong learner. If you have questions about finding and evaluating scholarly sources for your research project, or if you need information for whatever reason, please do not hesitate to call on us. Ask us about RefWorks, WorldCat Local and the new Relais document delivery service!
When you are off-campus, you can call or e-mail (457-6250 or msvu.ca ) or you can use the Novanet virtual reference service on our website (http://www.msvu.ca/library) to start a live chat session with a reference librarian. All of the Library's electronic resources, including over 24,000 electronic journals, can also be used from home via the Library website.
As a member of the Mount Library community, you are entitled to use the services of other Novanet university libraries. Through our document delivery services there are hundreds of thousands of books and journals available to you, delivered to the Novanet library of your choice, or you can visit other libraries in person. If our Library and Novanet do not have what you need, the Library's document delivery team can obtain the items for you.
Please bookmark the Library's website (http://www.msvu.ca/library) in case you need help later in the term, and drop in to see us soon! We welcome your suggestions for further Library improvements and are happy to answer any questions about existing Library policies. You can post suggestions and questions on the Library's blog, or contact us by e-mail, mail, fax or telephone.
The Mount Library is here to help you have the best university experience in Canada!
