The 2011 season was a rebuilding year for The Mount’s Women's Soccer  team. Having lost 11 potential starters and a goalie, this year's rookies and core of remaining players from last season are stepping up and are now leading this year’s team. The women have a long history of successes and didn't want to tarnishing their reputation.

They started the season with three wins against Crandall, UNBSJ and STU, and one tie with Holland College.  Our new offence is working well with the supporting defensive line of veteran players like Emily Burke, Jaimee Dobson, Melissa McGee and Jenna Gallie.

Head Coach, Colin Steeves and Assistant Coaches Morgan LeBlanc, Sarah Allt and Breagh MacDonald could not be any prouder of the 2011-2012 Mount's Women's Soccer team. This team exhibited an undying commitment to compete no matter what roadblock was placed in front of them.

Probably the worst record of injuries in the history of any team to compete for the Mount, the team lost 7 key starters to broken ankles, torn knees and unforeseen medical conditions. The team some how responded to each injury and regrouped with more determination to get the job done for each other and their injured teammates. Players were asked to play positions and systems they had never played before and with each challenge they responded positively.

The team finished the season in second place with a 8-2-2 record.  In ACAA semi final play, the team lost 1-0 to third place Holland College in a very evenly matched contest. Senior player, Andera Melanson was awarded Player of the Game and named to the 1st Team All Conference
Team along with Emily Burke.  Melissa McGee and Jaimee Dobson were named to the 2nd Team ACAA All Conference Team. With great pride, the team was thrilled to learn that Allie Poole was named ACAA Rookie of the Year and 4th year player and team captain, Emily Burke, was named ACAA Player of the Year.
