Adult Dance Fit

Free Class January 8

An easy way to get fit AND have fun at the same time! This program will start with basic dance moves and choreography and build up until you feel confident and accomplished. Every 45 min class will be a workout but you will forget you are exercising due to the fabulous music and energy of the group.  Learn moves from Hip Hop, Bollywood, Disco, Salsa, Merengue and more. This class is for all levels (even those with ‘two left feet’) so join us to sweat, burn calories, tone, laugh, and de-stress from your day!  For ages 16+ years.

Melissa Millar

Melissa has been involved in the fitness industry since 1997 and cannot imagine any other career!  A lifelong passion for dance brought her to the world of fitness and she has never looked back. She completed degrees in Kinesiology and Dance from York University, then certifications from YMCA Canada, Can-Fit-Pro, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), ZUMBA and YogaFit Canada. She is a Group Fitness Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Workshop Presenter, and Trainer Educator. Her fitness experience includes 6 years as the Director of Health, Fitness, and Recreation at the South Park YMCA in Halifax, and Coordinator of the Group Fitness Program at YMCA Ellerslie in Auckland, New Zealand. Having spent time living and working around the world Melissa has acquired valuable skills working with people of all ages, sizes and abilities and including injury rehab, pre & post natal fitness, and older adult programs. In 2009 she was awarded the Fitness Instructor of the Year-Freestyle, presented by Fitness Life magazine in New Zealand. Melissa most recently spent 7 years as owner and lead trainer for MOTIVA Wellbeing and Fitness in Halifax.
