African Drumming

Experience the power of the African Drum and learn the age old tradition of drumming in a fun and relaxed environment.  We will be introduced to the history of the drum, proper sounds and technique.  All levels are welcome, drums will be provided and the focus will be on traditional West African rhythms.

Chris Kennedy

Chris has travelled extensively to hone his skills through
participation in master drumming and dance workshops,
internationally acclaimed performances and as a top notch
clinician, facilitator and educator.  Chris devotes himself to the study of technique, history and education of these wonderful instruments. To accomplish these goals he travels to Guinea to immerse himself in the rich culture and tradition of West African music, and studies around the world with Master drummers and dancers.   He works and has performed with famous Master drummers such as M’Bemba Bangoura, Seickou Keita, and Mohamed Kalifa Kamara.
