Shotokai Karate is a non-competitive martial art that empowers children to improve themselves through practicing Karate-do. Karate is a fun way to be active and stay fit.

Note: Returning Students or those with previous experience only.

  • Karate is for Children ages 7-15. Youth 15+ may register in the Adult Program.
  • Beginner Karate is up to Orange Belt.

A typical practice session...

  • Warm-up followed by stretches.
  • Division of the class into level groupings.
  • Practice of basic techniques (kihon), partner practice (kumite), standardized group forms (kata) or a combination/variation of these practices.

  • White Belt Beginner
  • Yellow Belt 5th Kyu
  • Orange Belt 4th Kyu
  • Green Belt 3rd Kyu
  • Blue Belt 2nd Kyu
  • Brown Belt 1st Kyu
  • Black Belt 1st - 5th Degree
