What is the Co-Curricular Recognition Program (CCRP)?
The Co-Curricular Recognition Program is a way for students to formally document all of their non-academic, extra-curricular involvement in an official format called a Co-Curricular Record (CCR). It may include activities such as volunteer work, athletics, awards and other leadership activities. You can request your CCR at any time for reasons such as job applications, award nominations, or scholarship opportunities.

How will the CCRP benefit me?
The CCRP has been put in place so that students can choose to enrich their university experience beyond the classroom in ways that will benefit their career goals. Your CCR will give you the edge that graduate schools and future employers are looking for.

How do I create my Co-Curricular Record (CCR)?
You can create your CCR simply and easily on this website by choosing the “student” option and proceeding to document all of your activities and awards. Validation from the Supervisor of the activity or event is required before any activity/award can be officially recorded on your CCR. For your convenience, an email will be automatically generated and sent to your supervisor when you submit an entry.

What activities can go on my CCR?
There are 6 types of activities that can be documented on a CCR. These include:
1. Student Leadership (i.e. executive positions in student government, campus societies, or athletics, Residence Assistant or Don)
2. Varsity Athletics Participation (i.e. team member)
3. Student Club/Society Involvement (i.e. member)
4. Student Awards (Awards excluding Scholarships awarded by the university scholarship committee due to the fact that those scholarships will be documented on the Academic Transcript.)
5. Professional Development (training outside of class – i.e. First Aid/CPR certification, non-violent crisis intervention, conference attendance and conference presentations)
6. Volunteer work (on-campus or off-campus)

How do I know if an activity qualifies for the recognition under the CCRP?Activities must meet the following guidelines:
1. Activities must have occurred during the time that the student was registered at Mount Saint Vincent University (but not before September 2010, the program launch date)
2. Activities must provide meaningful experiences within one of the following 6 categories listed above.
3. Activities must be un-paid (with the exception of student government positions)
4. The student must not have received academic credit for participating in the activity
5. Activities must be properly validated by a non-student supervisor

What happens if my activity does not have a set end date?
If your activity does not have a set end date, you will be asked to set the default end date as April of the current academic year. If your activity continues over the summer, you will have to create a new entry beginning in May and with the correct end date. If the end date is again unknown, select the default end date to be April of the next academic year.

What happens if I make a mistake and need to edit or remove one of my entries?
If you need to edit or remove an entry, you can contact the CCRP Administrator at ccrp@msvu.ca and have them make the appropriate changes.

What if I have more than one role with the same organization?
If you have more than one role with the same organization, you should add each of these activities separately.

How do I receive an official or unofficial copy of my CCR?
An official copy of your CCR can be requested from the administrator. The administrator will inform you of the estimated time for pick-up when you submit your request. An unofficial copy can be requested online and received via email or a paper copy can be distributed by the administrator. It is the students responsibility to request their CCR from the administrator at: ccrp@msvu.ca. Please allow 5 business days for us to process your CCR request.

Can I submit activities/awards that I have been a part of before September 2010?
Unfortunately, your CCR is not retroactive; this means that only activities/awards after September 2010 can be documented. It is important to update your CCR often throughout the school year.

What happens if I discontinue my volunteer work during the summer months but volunteer with the same organization again in September?
If you discontinue volunteer work during the summer months but volunteer with that same organization again in September, you should enter this activity on your CCR as two separate events.

How can I receive my official CCR if I’m not in close proximity to the university (i.e. Distance student, living away for the summer, studying abroad)?
If you are unable to pick up your official CCR due to your location at the time of your request, your CCR can be mailed to you but there may be a shipping cost.

How is my supervisor contacted in order to validate my activity/award?
When you submit an entry for your CCR online, you are asked to enter your supervisor’s email.  When your entry is completed, an email will be automatically sent to your supervisor for validation.

What if my supervisor does not have/use email?
If your supervisor does not have/use email, they may contact the CCRP Administrator by Phone or Fax.

What happens if I want to add more activities in the future? Do I have a login name and password?
If you want to add more activities to your CCR in the future, you will have to fill out the personal information fields again and the Program Administrator will connect you with your previous entries. Since there are only four items needed for your personal information, a login name and password is not necessary.

What if there is no “role” that suits my CCR entry? Can new roles be added?

If there is no “role” that suits your CCR entry, contact the Program Administrator. If a new role is necessary then it will be added to the online form.

What if I end my participation with an activity earlier than I had anticipated? If you end your participation with an activity earlier than the end date in your CCR activity entry, it is your responsibility to contact the Program Administrator to change it to the correct end date.

How many official printed copies of my CCR am I eligible to get during the academic year?Students are allowed a maximum of 10 official printed copies of their CCR during the academic year.  Unofficial copies can be emailed in PDF form which you can print if more are needed.
