What do you want to be when you grow up? When I finish university I plan on being a teacher, or working in the field of social work with youth.
Why did you choose the Mount? Because I like that the campus is small, and all of the faculty and professors want to, and are willing to help you succeed. .
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? I really enjoy Halloween. The haunted house is great and I love the Halloween theme night at Vinnies.
What is your favorite spot on campus? I really like to be in the Link. It is one of the busy spots at the Mount and I’ve had some good laughs with people who are some of my close friends now. I also like Rosaria because there is always a good song playing which helps me relax.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Make the academic advisors your best friend, they wont steer you wrong. Don’t be afraid to always ask questions. Do your assignments before the morning they are due (I learned the hard way). EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT – this I promise. Make time for yourself. And most of all, HAVE SOME FUN!

Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because it has such an amazing environment and history. Everyone is so nice and helpful, it's a great school.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? I love the residence competition. It's a great way to bond with your floor in unique and fun ways, and it goes on all year!
What is your favorite spot on campus? My favorite spot on campus to study is definitely the library. I like how it's color coded; you have the choice to sit in a spot where you can talk, just hang out and casually do work, or you can go to the silent areas and really focus to get a lot done.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Go to every event you can. You make so many new friends and the events are all over campus so you get used to where everything is.

Why did you choose the Mount? I was really attracted by the Mount’s co-op program – I liked that it would give me some work experience as part of my education. I really felt it is an excellent opportunity.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? This is my first year on campusand I really enjoyed Frosh Week this year, however, especially the Wacky Olympics!
What is your favorite spot on campus)? My Birch! The people I live with and I are already like a little family, so there’s always something to do if I want to hang out. Everyone is also very polite and quiet, so it’s easy to get my studying done in my room or even the kitchen.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Leave time for yourself! It’s important to work hard and to get involved in as many activities as you can, but you should always make sure that you do something fun and relaxing every now and again so that you don’t go crazy with stress!

What do you want to be when you grow up? I will graduate in May with my Bachelor of Science and then I will be entering the Public Relations program at the Mount in September 2012. .We’ll see where that takes me!
Why did you choose the Mount? The first time I drove by the Mount, I fell in love. It was as simple as that. However, as I became more educated about the Mount and Halifax – I loved the location, the small class sizes, the social opportunities and the wide selection of courses I could choose from.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? I LOVE Mardi Gras! Rosaria opens into a “Super Pub” with multiple dance floors and everyone dresses up in crazy outfits with bright colors - the atmosphere is amazing!
What is your favorite spot on campus? I have a few areas that I love! First, I love hanging out at the couches in the basement of the library – it’s a great area to nap, have conversation with friends and get lots of work done. Second, the new study areas in Evaristus are amazing – I love going there to do group work.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Everyone tells you to get involved! But DO IT! It’s your University experience! Try new things, meet new people, put yourself out there! You never know what could happen if you do...

Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because of its reputation for having a personal family-like environment, and because of its great PR program!
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? My favourite event is Shinerama, because it supports a great cause and it makes a huge difference in those people who fight Cystic Fibrosis.
What is your favorite spot on campus? My favourite spot to hangout at the Mount is definitely the Question Mark couches in Rosaria!
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Make lots of new friends, get involved and have a blast!

What do you want to be when you grow up? High school teacher, or some form of an educator
Why did you choose the Mount? The Mount offers below average class size, with oppurtunities to speak out of class with professors and facultiy. Plus, the location is not downtown but only a quick bus or car ride away.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? Shinerama is an awesome time to meet new people and raise money for a valuable cause. Mount Cup is also a favourite of mine. It is year-long competition between the residences. Some activities include scavenger hunts, and dodgeball!
What is your favorite spot on campus? The Question Mark in Rosaria, by the cafetiera. It’s a great place to sit, chill and relax while studying with a group of people. Also the wet and dry pub is great. You get to watch the hockey game, meet new people, shoot some pool or just sit around a table and mingle.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? My best piece of advice for a new student to the Mount is to take advantage of your school. Speak with your profs- they want to engage with students. Also,manage your time so you can excel in acedemics but enjoy your social experience as well.

What do you want to be when you grow up? When I grow up, I want to either do something with infants/young children or be an elementary school teacher.
Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because it is so welcoming and “home-like”, it feels like a tight-knit community. I liked the idea of having smaller class sizes, which allows me to talk to my professor one on one.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? My favorite event so far is Shinerama. Being able to go around HRM doing almost anything and having a good time- while raising money for Cystic Fibrosis- was an awesome experience.
What is your favorite spot on campus? My favorite spot on campus to get away from it all, for me would be in the Assisi floor lounges - you can always find a quiet one.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? My best piece of advice for new students at the Mount is this: don’t be afraid or nervous of this next step in your life. Everybody here has been in those same shoes before and would love to help you out or answer any questions you may have.

What do you want to be when you grow up? As far as I know right now I want to work with children in the hospitals as a part of the child-life program they provide.
Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because of the small classes, the friendly environment I was introduced to at the Open House event, and also because I like the set up and the look of the university.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? My favorite event at the Mount that happens every year is the Last Class Bash because everyone has a good time and it’s the celebration of classes being done!
What is your favorite spot on campus? To study, I like the library, specifically in the cubicles because it is normally pretty quiet in those areas. To hang out with friends and classmates I enjoy going in the Link but my favorite place is the Seton Café.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? My best advice for new students is basically to not have too much fun your first year, that’s not to say you can’t have any, but don’t have too much! Also, if you’re fortunate enough to know what you want to do that’s great; but if you don’t, take time to think about it and take courses you enjoy and think are going to be interesting.

What is your favorite spot on campus? To hang out is Vinnies, to study is Crow’s Nest, and to get away from it all is the basement of the Library.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Don’t bite off more than you can chew, pace yourself and schedule yourself accordingly so that you do not get behind. Once behind it is very difficult to catch up

What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? This is my first year at the Mount- I transferred from another university -however, I’ve participated in Frosh Week which was really fun! There was a lot of spirit throughout the week and it really gave you a sense of what the atmosphere on campus was like.
What is your favorite spot on campus? I enjoy reading outside and I also enjoy studying at the library- it offers different zones offered depending on your study style.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Don’t be afraid to ask questions; whether it’s to find a classroom or about a program, someone will help you!

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a Mount Saint Vincent Grad of 2015 when I grow up! Right now, I believe that I want to do Public Relations work in the non-profit sector, but who knows what opportunities might come my way. I am hoping that after my co-op terms, I will have a better idea of where I want to work.
Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because of the Public Relations program and small class sizes. Everyone here is truly like a family and most of your professors know you by name..
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? I really enjoyed all of the Frosh events. It helped me get to know some people at school (I didn’t know anyone before I came here) and it really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone.
What is your favorite spot on campus My favorite spot on campus is for sure Rosaria Student Center. At times it is quiet and a great place to get some work done, but most of the time it is the place where all off campus and on campus students can hang out together. It is a great University environment and there is almost always something interesting going on there!
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? My best piece of advice for new students is to study hard, but get out and have fun too. University is a lot more work than high school, and, if you live on campus, your friends are going to want to hang out all of the time. Good time management skills are key!

Why did you choose the Mount? Because…. It’s a nice small university where everyone knows you. The profs are great and you can get help anytime! And the classes are small and there are some great courses!
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? I like the first day of school when Frosh Week is going on. There’s free food and other free stuff, also lots of opportunities to find out about!
What is your favorite spot on campus? I like it at the back of the library because it is so nice and quiet back there and lots of comfortable chairs. You can either study or have a nap!
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? Learn your way around, volunteer, join societies and get involved - and use the services at the school they are wonderful!

What do you want to be when you grow up? I am not one hundred percent sure. Whatever interests me at that point in my life.
Why did you choose the Mount? I chose the Mount because it was the closest place that offered my program of interest. Also, the Mount has a small campus, which makes it much easier to get to know your professors and fellow classmates.
What’s your favorite event that happens on campus each year and why? My favorite event that happens at the Mount would have to be Orientation Week. There are so many events going on, and it makes meeting new people a whole lot easier.
What is your favorite spot on campus? I love how the Mount is literally on a mountain. There are so many places outside you can go and just hang out, plus in the fall the trees are absolutely beautiful. I also like the section in the library with the comfy couches and the fireplace. It is a great place to get study done, and feel comfortable all at the same time.
What’s your best piece of advice for new students at the Mount? LeThe Mount is such a tight-knit community so it easy to become involved. It is easy to meet people if you volunteer, attend events, join societies, and sign up for sports teams. Once you have experienced the Mount you will realize that it is more like a community than a university.
