Movies Movie theatres are popular venues for entertainment in Halifax. The closest theatre  
to the Mount is the Empire 18 Cinema at Bayers Lake.

Bars & PubsVinnie's Pub at The Mount Bars and pubs are frequented on Thursdays through Sundays. Thursday night is Pub night at the Mount. Vinnie’s Pub is located in Rosaria next to the Corner Store. Cover charge is about $3.00 and all students (from The Mount or from other universities) need their student card and ID cards to verify whether they are of legal drinking age. The legal drinking age in Nova Scotia is 19. If you are below 19 years, you will receive a dry stamp before entering Vinnie’s, which means you are not able to consume alcohol.

Off-Campus Bars & Clubs All pubs and bars around Halifax require two pieces of identification. A passport, driver’s license, or Nova Scotia ID card are acceptable forms of ID. A student ID card is not accepted, you will not be allowed into off-campus bars without proper identification.

Theatres In Halifax, there are a number of theatres with plays and musicals that run all year round. There are also dinner theatres where you can dine and be entertained by actors. In the summer, there are outdoor theatres open to the public such as "Shakespeare by the Sea". The major theatre in Halifax is Neptune Theatres.
