About WUSC
WUSC GirlWUSC is a network of individuals and post-secondary institutions who believe that everyone is entitled to the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to a more equitable world. Our mission is to foster human development and global understanding through education and training. Our award-winning projects are developed to address local needs and reduce poverty, and are delivered with local partners to ensure sustainability. We also support development education activities and international programs at Canadian colleges and universities.

WUSC at the Mount WUSC Poverty GroupFormed in 2005, WUSC at MSVU is part of 70 WUSC local committees in Canada. Our MSVU committee is made up of students, staff and faculty who want change and are passionate about international development.

Student Refugee Program (SRP)In 2007, the Mount WUSC local committee held a student referendum in support of the SRP. A remarkable 93% of Mount students voted in favour of the program. Currently, the WUSC local committee is raising funds to bring our third student refugee to the Mount in September 2010. We will continue to hold fundraising and awareness events each semester to bring a refugee student to MSVU each year. Learn more about the Student Refugee Program.

Bicycle Ambulances in MalawiBicycles, especially if outfitted with a stretcher, can be of great assistance to those living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi. Through Bike for AIDS, The Mount's WUSC Local Committee is fund raising to purchase bikes and bicycle-ambulances while also raising awareness on HIV and AIDS. The wheels are already in motion - help to keep the momentum going in the fight against HIV and AIDS!
Thank you everyone, including cyclers, students, participants and donators that participated in the World Aids Day fundraiser on December 1. We were able to raise $265 towards purchasing a bicycle ambulance for people suffering with HIV and AIDS in Malawi. We are only $235 away from purchasing one bicycle-ambulance.
