Location: Located on the Eastern coastline of Nova Scotia, Halifax is the halfway point between Europe and the West Coast of North America. It is less than 2 hours by air from New York or Toronto.

Time: The city uses Atlantic Standard Time.

Language: English and French, both of Canada's official languages, are spoken throughout Nova Scotia.

Weather: In Halifax, you can experience four distinct seasons. Average daily temperatures are:
Autumn, or fall, range from 2 to 15°C.
Winter months have plenty of snow and can range from 2 to -10°C.
Spring warms up to an average of 15°C.
Summer is warm and sunny with an average temperature of 23°C.
