New International Student Orientation
August 29 - 31, 2012
This is the most important event for international students at the Mount—and the best part is that International Student Orientation is free! All new international students must register and attend. Orientation
gives you a great head start on what it’s like to live in Canada, what
to expect when studying at the Mount and of course to meet new people
from all over the world. You’ll have a chance to find your way around
campus and to discover what services the Mount and the great city of
Halifax have to offer.
This year's New International Student Orientation is jam-packed with activities and events that include:
- a tour of the Mount’s campus
- a chance to meet other students and the people available to help you while you’re studying at the Mount
- a Canadian cultural orientation and Mount academic orientation
- information about Canadian immigration regulations and your health-insurance policy
- a tour of Halifax and a trip to Peggy’s Cove (Halifax’s main tourist attraction)
- a shopping trip to pick up some warm clothing for our Nova Scotian winter and a dinner downtown
Orientation is going to be an exciting week!
Registration includes free accommodation during orientation, all social activities and most meals. If you arrive in Halifax on August 28, 2012, free airport pick-up service will be provided.
