Submit Additional Required Materials

All Applicants: Additional Materials Required for the Following Programs

High School Applicants

  • Submit official mid-year or final high school transcripts.
  • Provide a resumé outlining activities (if there has been a break in study) between high school and your application to MSVU.
  • For students who would like to be considered for Entrance Scholarships, you must have your complete application submitted by March 15 for September enrollment. More Scholarship information.

Previous/Current Post-Secondary Study Applicants

  • Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution.
  • Provide a resumé outlining activities (if there has been a break in study) between the last institution attended and your application to MSVU.
  • Submit high school transcripts if applying to a new program of study.

Mature Students

  • Students who have been out of the high school system for a period of time may be considered for admission on an individual basis. Please refer to the Mature Admissions Policy in the University Academic Calendar.
  • Submit documentation of previous educational experience, a letter outlining educational goals and a resumé outlining past academic achievement and employment background.
  • Schedule a pre-admission interview with the Assistant to the Deans at 902.457.6400 or msvu.ca.

Application Deadlines

Language Requirements

  • Students whose first language is not English must submit official reports with acceptable scores from the Michigan English Language Test, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the CanTest, the International English Language Training System (IELTS) or the Canadian Academic English Language Test (CAEL). They may also qualify to participate in the University Bridging Program upon admission.
  • Applicants who meet our admission requirements but do not verify their ability to undertake studies in English by either submitting such test scores or completing one of the approved programs will not be offered admission.

Residence & Housing

  • Information and application for on-campus housing is sent with the Letter of Admission. Students interested in living in residence should complete the application promptly, as space is limited, and return it to the Housing Office (902.457.6356 or msvu.ca).
  • MSVU offers three styles of residence: Westwood, 158- bed, co-ed residence with apartment-style and dormitory accommodations; Assisi Hall, 12-story building with single and double rooms for 142 female students; and The Birches, five townhouses each with 20 single rooms (two townhouses are usually designated for females, two are co-ed and one for international/mature students).

Students with Identified Disabilities

  • Upon admission to MSVU, students with identified disabilities (e.g., visual or hearing impairment, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, etc.) are required to arrange an appointment with the Disabilities Services Co-ordinator at 902.457.6567 for a confidential discussion of their needs. Please refer to the University Academic Calendar for further information.
