Raising $12 million in 20 months
Project TWENTY12 is positioning Mount Saint Vincent University to achieve a fundraising goal of $12 million. It is the most ambitious and forward-looking fundraising effort in the Mount's history. Project TWENTY12 is being led by a task force of influential and committed leaders who believe our students need a learning environment that is contemporary, technology-rich and interactive. The funds raised will result in a new facility - the Margaret Norrie McCain Centre for Teaching, Learning and Research.
Inside the Centre will be a number of flagship programs and initiatives, including:
- Public Relations & Communication Studies (Goal: $1 million)
- Nova Scotia Centre on Aging (Goal: $750,000)
- Business Administration and Tourism and Hospitality Management (Goal: $1 million)
- Women's Studies and the Advancement of Women Initiatives (Goal: $2 million)
The new centre will transform our instructional environment and in doing so, will have a tremendous impact on our core mission: teaching. Project TWENTY12 will recognize inspiring women as the commitment to the advancement and education of women is a hallmark of our university. Inside the centre, Project TWENTY12 will celebrate and honour women through numerous naming opportunities including a unique art installation honouring 12 Inspiring Women and the Women's Wall of Honour.
