How the Mass Media Spins Science
Richard Zurawski, a Mount alumnus, is a familiar name to many for his documentary film making, writing, and his on-air commentary as a meteorologist and radio host. He has been in the science and weather business for 35 years, and is currently the chief Meteorologist for Rogers Radio, which broadcasts across the entire Maritime region and in Ottawa. Richard also co-hosts Rogers Wednesday Science Files, the Gary Doyle Show, and writes a popular science blog.

Owner and producer of Zurawski Productions, Richard has completed a number of documentaries about science, weather, and history, as well as producing three children’s series for television,  Wonder Why?, The Adventures of the AfterMath Crew and WiseWeatherWhys. For his work in documentary production and research for his books, Richard has travelled around the world, from Iran to India to Australia to Japan. He has also published three books, and his latest, Media Mediocrity – Waging War against Science, is receiving rave reviews. 

Richard is currently a PhD student in the Faculty of Education. He lives in Halifax NS, where he has resided for over two decades.
