We are pleased to share that the Mount is this year’s recipient of the Educational Institution Recognition Award from the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE). This annual award recognizes one educational institution that has shown exemplary support and contribution to CACEE at a national level. The Mount’s involvement in CACEE reflects our commitment to supporting the future careers of our students.

The Mount is a smaller institution than many of the previous winners. CACEE regional leaders said in an announcement: “This is an important reminder to all of us that valuable contributions come from all members, and an important message to our smaller institutions – the work they do matters, and it is noticed. MSVU has long exemplified a level of commitment to CACEE regionally and nationally that can serve as a model for other post-secondary institutions across the country.”

CACEE is Canada’s leading authority on students’ transition from post-secondary school to career. As a national non-profit partnership, the association provides leadership, information and resources to employers, career service professionals and students.

Partnerships between the association and post-secondary schools, like the Mount, provide students with professional development activities, access to professional networks and other opportunities to advance their careers and improve their transition into the workplace.

“The Mount has been an active member in supporting CACEE through sponsorship, providing speakers and workshop facilitators to regional CACEE Atlantic events, and by supporting staff as the Educator Co-Chair for the 2010 National Conference in Halifax,” said Christine Frigault, Career Planning Services Coordinator at the Mount and Chair of CACEE’s Atlantic Regional Advisory Board, since 2014. “With active involvement in the Atlantic Regional Advisory Committee, the Mount has shown dedication to the success of CACEE initiatives and, in so doing, the prosperity of students as they enter the workforce.”
