150 Young Minds to Develop and Operate a Social Enterprise
A collaborative partnership between Mount Saint Vincent University (the Mount), the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development (CEED) and Dalhousie University has resulted in Social Enterprise for a Day, a multi-department funded event taking place February 3 and 4. Participants will discuss, develop and run a social enterprise.

Decreasing Rate but Increasing Severity of Disability Among Elderly Canadians
A recent study conducted by researchers at Mount Saint Vincent University and Université de Montréal reveals that the overall rate of disability of older Canadians has decreased; but, the proportion with more severe disabilities has increased.

Sheila Fraser and Mary Walsh encourage grads to "speak truth to power"
More than 340 students joined the Mount Saint Vincent University (the Mount) Alumnae community during two separate ceremonies yesterday. In addition, Sheila Fraser, former Auditor General of Canada, and Mary Walsh, one of Canada’s foremost comedic icons, were awarded honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees.

Australian advocate of drama in schools to visit Halifax
One of Australia’s top educators will be in Halifax this week to talk about how she’s collaborating with an Oscar-winning actress to create a greater focus on arts in the general school curriculum. Robyn Ewing, Professor of Teacher Education and the Arts at the University of Sydney will be a guest speaker at Mount Saint Vincent University this week as part of the Mount’s “Literacies as Ways of Knowing” series.
