International Youth Internship Program (Honduras)

 

Program description:

The International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) is a program for Canadian graduates (ages 19 to 30 inclusive), part of the Career Focus stream of the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES). Canada's YES provides Canadian youth with tools and experience they need to launch successful careers.

 

Objectives of IYIP:


  • Provide eligible youth with international experience, skills and knowledge that will prepare them for future employment
  • Increase employment opportunities by promoting awareness among Canadian organizations of the advantages of integrating young Canadian professionals into their structures and programs
  • Provide opportunities for Canadians to increase their awareness, deepen their understanding and engage in international development
  • Contribute to the advancement of CIDA's mandate to reduce poverty, promote human rights and increase sustainable development and to meet CIDA's priorities for official development assistance.

Eligibility:


  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • A post-secondary graduate―graduate of a degree or diploma program from a university, college, post-secondary school of technology, post-secondary institute or a CEGEP (collège d'enseignement général et professionnel)
  • Out of school
  • Between the ages of 19 and 30
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

You must complete the on-line application form and be prepared to upload your resume as well as a cover letter clearly explaining your reasons for wanting to undertake an internship and your suitability as a candidate. Please note that if you are applying for a position with a language requirement, you may be asked to undergo a language test at a later date.

Chinese Government Scholarships

How to Apply:

Note: This is a two-step process. First, applicants must complete the online application of the China Scholarship Council. Then applicants must send three copies of the online application along with all supporting documents to Education Office, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Canada, 396 Wilbrod Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 6M8.

 

Applicants apply for undergraduate programs are invited to read Introduction to Foundation Program, and all applicants are invited to read Online Application Instruction  prior to submitting a formal application. Please be advised that applicants must be Canadian citizens.


STEP ONE: Online Application


Complete the China Scholarship Council online application form at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn . Please process according to the Online Application Instruction .

Step 1: Log on to http://laihua.csc.edu.cn

The applicants should register for a username and password before logging on.

 

Step 2: After logging on to the system, please read the "ONLINE APPLICATION GUIDANCE" and follow the steps.

 

Step 3: Click the button "NEXT" and select the scholarship you want to apply for.

(Please select the Chinese Government Scholarship, unless you are applying for the other Cooperation Program Scholarship.)

 

Step 4: Please note that the "Agency NO." is one of the most crucial parts of your online application. It is listed in the first blank under the "PERSONAL DATA". Please make sure that you fill it in correctly otherwise you will not be able to continue your online application. Your "AGENCY NO." is 1241.

 

Step 5: Please fill in the online application form truthfully, correctly and completely following the steps listed on the left of the page.

The applicants are required to select the disciplines before choosing their majors. For inquires about the disciplines and majors, please refer to the Disciplines Index, which can be downloaded for "Help".

 

Step 6: Preview the application form after finishing it and submit it online.

 

Step 7: Please download the finished application form by clicking the button "DOWNLOAD APPLICATION" and print it out.

 

Step 8: Please prepare other supporting documents as required and send TWO COPIES of the full package of application documents to the Education Office of Chinese Embassy in Canada, 396 Wilbrod Street, Ottawa, K1N 6M8, Canada

 

 

Internet Explorer (6.0 or 7.0) is strongly recommended, otherwise inconvenience may be caused by other browsers.

 

Only Chinese and English are accepted for the online application.


STEP TWO: Application Form and SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS


Applicants are required to submit the followings to the Education Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Canada to complete the application process. Applicants are required to submit three (3) copies of each of the following documents:

  • Downloaded, printed online application form (Please do stick your resent photo to each first page of your application form.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Notarized photo copy of transcripts of the most advanced studies
  • Photo copy of the diploma (notarized by Notary Public) for the highest degree obtained.
  • A detailed study/research plan
  • If applicable: proof of language proficiency (HSK results)
  • If applicable: samples of artwork for applicants in Fine Arts (6 color pictures) and Music (1 audio tape/CD/DVD). This only apply to those who apply for arts and music.

Deadline:

All application documents (online and hard copy including supporting documentation) must be submitted to the Education Office the Chinese Embassy (396 Wilbrod Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 6M8) by the date of April 10, 2013. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that application documents are submitted by the deadline. Incomplete files will not accepted.

Selection Process:

The final selection of scholarship recipients is made by the China Scholarship Council and is communicated to successful candidates by July 31, 2013.

Successful candidates will receive admission notices from the Chinese university along with other materials on visa and travel to China at the same time.
