The Mount’s United Way target for 2011 is $30,000 and a targeted participation rate goal of 30 percent. Together, we can do it!  As of November 17, we have reached 75 percent of our financial goal, and 67 percent of participation rate goal. Your donations to the United Way provide support to over 55 local agencies, and you can choose to support your favorite registered charity beyond those agencies as well.  All donations are greatly appreciated in our effort to continue our tradition of community support. Pledges can be given to Brigitte MacInnes (msvu.ca)in the Registrar's Office (Evaristus) or by calling 457-6419.

Silent Auction - Friday, October 21
On Friday, October 21, the Mount’s United Way held their second annual silent auction which raised $2,100! “We really wanted to incorporate more of a social atmosphere to this year’s event, introducing the musical component and a vast array of auction items. We wanted the first campaign event to be far-reaching by seeing a 30% participation rate among students and faculty – ultimately exposing, attracting new members and bringing the Mount’s United Way community together,” said co-chair Bridgette MacInnes. Bidders had the opportunity to win tickets to Neptune Theatre’s production “Jungle Book”, a 2 night hotel stay anywhere in Canada or the United States, a dinner package for The Keg, Empire Theatre movie passes and even spa gift certificates. Thank you to all those who participated!

Haunted House

The Students' Union graciously donated $223 towards the United Way Campaign from the annual Haunted House event!

Flowers sold at Convocation - November 13

On November 13, we raised $272 by selling flowers during the convocation ceremonies. Thanks to the people who were able to pull this together for us! 

Cookie Cart - November 23

Once again, people appreciated the cookie and coffee cart that made its way through campus, and donations of $149.75 were very much appreciated!

ONGOING/UPCOMING EVENTS

50/50 Tickets - To date, we have raised $835 by way of selling 50/50 tickets! The next draw will place on December 2 with another one being held during the Holiday Luncheon on December 22.

Holiday Luncheon - The Holiday Luncheon will take place on December 22 and at that time, there will be draws for a wine basket, jewelry, a Miche Bag, Pharmasave Basket as well as reserved parking spot! Tickets will be going on sale for these draws, and of course, there will be the 50/50 draw at the Holiiday Luncheon!
