These three songwriter/performers are each accomplished in their own right. They originally came together to blend their unique music and lyric writing styles in November 2007, with an interest in writing songs that might make a difference.
Their first song, Stand Together, is an inspirational anthem of hope and unity, which they performed at the Obama Welcome Rally during the U.S. President’s inaugural visit to Canada. “Stand Together delivers a wonderfully melodic vocal arrangement and compelling lyric…” is among the many accolades that accompanied a Great American Song Contest Honour Award in 2009. Haligonia.ca named the music video Stand Together For Service, video of the week in honour of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The co-writers flair for cause-inspired writing is heard in Every Step Of The Way, a song inspired by children who face frightening life challenges which was performed in support of the IWK Hospital annual telethon, centennial and other events. Their most recent music project We’ll Find a Way was written to bring awareness and inspire action to take care of the planet. Co-written by Melanie Donnelly, Joanna Butler & Catherine Kinsman, the song was recorded and mixed with the help of music producer, Scott Ferguson of Ferguson Music Productions, and a music video and documentary was created by filmmaking partners Ken Petersen & Catherine Kinsman of Vital Scenes Productions. Acclaimed East Coast artists Dave Carroll, Ian Sherwood, Chelsea Nisbett, Kim Wempe, Carmel Mikol and Michael Redden enthusiastically brought their vocal and on screen talents to the project. Funds raised through sales of the song, will benefit the planet through support of environmental organizations in Canada and abroad.
